miami hotels

This personal project was an opportunity for two of my interests to overlap: art deco design and illustration. While I was well-versed in illustrator for architectural graphics, this exercise furthered my experience with illustrator for graphic design.

Miami is a hot spot for art deco and streamline design. I referenced old postcards and photographs of hotels to create this vignettes, as many of the hotels no longer exist / no longer exist as they used to.

The best part of this project was later visiting Miami and comparing my illustrations to the real hotels, in person. I aspire to create more series of buildings in this style, and hopefully see my art next to the real buildings again.
